CV and Resume for Mark Ridley

I am a freelance business analyst specialising in process and data, using structured methods in a pragmatic way (I'm a qualified SSADM practitioner). My experience has been gained in the utilities, financial, insurance, public, government, automotive, leisure and training sectors.

One of my key strengths is my ability to gain the confidence of the business community and ensure their functional and non-functional requirements for any business change are captured, agreed, prioritised and met by the IT camp. I listen well, empathising with the speaker and communicate clearly both verbally and non-verbally.
Any project will benefit from my skills, as my CV / Resume will show.

I've recently written the following:

All are from a business analyst's perspective, aimed at business studies and computing degree students junior business analysts and agents, too.

I've tried to write them in an easily readable form by keeping them as jargon free as possible, though inevitably some's crept in.

Currently availability: Immediately
Previous Contract: International Financial Data Services, Basildon
Prior to that: Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, Telford

CV

My CV / Resume will be of particular interest to agencies that place freelance computer personnel.

Agencies: email me from your agency email address with CV Requestas the subject, and your agency name and website url in the body. I'll then include you in my database for sending out cv updates.

Feedback received from Martin Edgell, IT Account Development Manager, British Gas Trading Ltd after I completed some sensitive requirements specifications for their client, a major contender in the energy supply infrastructure market.
"This is a very good piece of work. Eric asked me to thank you for your effort and is very impressed with the way you have picked this up from scratch and produced such good requirements. They also liked the way you went about the tasks and got on well with their staff. Thanks again."

Feedback received from Guy Robertson, Ambassador User, Rural Payments Agency:
"I am continually proud of E-Calc and how we delivered an excellent system that staff across the country were pleased to use. As someone who had never helped develop one before, you and your team were great with me..."

..and another string to my bow is my fine art photography. My collection is here... and you can see a featured article by the BBC on my photo essay on Urban Ugliness here: Devon  Online->Features

More exercises and examples, particularly in the sections on function definition and dialogue design, are included to suit students.

A reader says:
"This book is written by a talented expert in the field, with vast knowledge and experience in both teaching and hands on experience. If you want or 'need' to learn SSDAM, then this is the book you should choose!"
