Undulating wave

The National Marine Aquarium is a showcase structure, clean and futuristic in its lines. The architecture directly draws from the theme of the sea. The roof is a cross section of a wave from the deep ocean and through glass the colour of the sea in the Bay of Biscay you can see the viewing area within, perhaps reminscent of Captain Nemo's Nautilus?

The marine design and architectural style of the National Marine Aquarium, thorugh colour, shape and iconography, is a perfect harmony of form and function.
