Cool Respite

Our short excursion through this section of St. Lucian rainforest took us past this delightful 8m waterfall. Standing underneath the drumming water brought some refreshing respite from the close, humid, heaviness of the surrounding vegitation .

The water followed the course set by a cluster of roots that stretched the whole length of the fall, like maiden's hair from a forest nymph. The cool, clear pool at the bottom was deep enough to take a short, cleansing swim before continuing on our way.
