Barbican PrawnThis unique sculpture captures the essence of Plymouth Barbican. The Barbican is both a working fish quay and an extremely popular tourist destination. The sculpture represents the importance of fishing to the area as well as hinting at creatures to be found out in the vast oceans. Oceans through which the maritime adventurers would have to pass to seek their fortunes. Fortunes to be found in the lands of promised riches far to the east and west. Drake, Sir John Hawkins, Captain Bligh of the Bounty, Sir Francis Chichester - all found riches in one way or another by setting sail from Plymouth.
