Mayflower Steps Arch

This is the archway at the top of the Mayflower Steps. Today the arch gives out onto Pilgrims Point, a full commemorative viewing platform, with the story of the Pilgrims told as embossed artwork on the handrail of Pilgrims Point. The steps have been moved over the centuries to somewhere just to the right of the archway.

The commemorative stone laid in the paving in front of the archway says "Mayflower 1620". Plaques on either side of the archway describe the voyage of the Mayflower and other memorable historical events that started or ended here.
