Hoe Foreshore and Drake's IslandTaken from Plymouth Hoe promenade on a hot summer's day, this shot captures the west Hoe foreshore and the built harbour, the hotels, restaurants and cafe bar in the foreground and Drake's Island and Mount Edecombe in the distance. A ferry chugs along, taking its load of tourists passed the island, ready to turn up the river Tamar and passed the navy base and onward to Morewellham, ancient stannery quay in the upper reaches of the Tamar, on the Cornish side.
