This image: Barbican, Mayflower Steps And Ferry : mayflower-steps-ferry.jpg
|
Typical Ferry DayDuring the summer season, ferries arrive regularly at the Mayflower Steps to collect tourists for harbour tours, tours of Devonport Royal Dockyard to see the navy warships, frigates and submarines in for service and visits to Morwellham Quay, an ancient tin mine port on the upper reaches of the Tamar. On the right of the photo you can see the famous or infamous (depending on viewpoint!) Barbican Prawn and behind that the Mayflower Centre, which charts all historic events related to this famous maritime port.
