Belvedere or Bull Ring

A closeup of a variation of Plymouth's coat of arms (never registered) on the front of the Belvedere, erected in the Mayoralty of Francis W Harris, 1891 on the site of the old Bullring on Plymouth's West Hoe. It makes a delightful shelter and viewing point for the the famous Plymouth Sound.

Plymouth's motto is Turris fortissima est nomen Jehovah - "the name of Jehovah is the strongest tower"
